Shaykh ‘Alee al-Hudhayfee said:

Gratitude for the blessings is to know that the One who bestowed and granted them is the Lord of the Worlds, and that you use them in obedience to Allaah ﷻ, and not in forbidden matters, while striving to preserve them.

It is said:

“If you are in a state of blessing, take care of it, for sins remove blessings.”

Allaah ﷻ says:

{…but if you deny, indeed, My punishment is severe.} – Ibraaheem 14:7

It is said in a proverb:

“When blessings are thanked for, they remain” – meaning they endure; “and when they are denied [or met with ingratitude], they flee” – meaning they disappear.

And sins are among the causes for the loss of blessings, and the onset of hardship and misfortune.

We ask Allaah ﷻ to preserve for us the blessings He has bestowed upon us, and upon you, and upon [all] the Muslims – and to increase us from His Bounty ﷻ and to forgive us our sins.

Indeed, He is the All Forgiving, the All Merciful.
