Question: A male doctor has recently graduated and wants to specialise in women’s matters and gynecology. So what is the ruling regarding that?

Response: I am of the opinion that he should not do so. [Rather], his speciality should be in an area specific to men. That is because the specialising of men in matters related to women is a [source of] great fitnah, and it is feared for him that he will be tested in terms of his religion, and as a result his religion will be compromised because of the [affairs affecting] this world.

He is a graduate of the Islaamic University of Madeenah, having graduated from the Institute of Arabic Language, and later the Faculty of Sharee'ah in 2004. He currently resides in Birmingham, UK.
