Question: Is it permissible to perform research [and testing] upon animals for medical and medicinal advancement?
Response: I don’t see any harm in this [based] upon the generality of His (Subhaanahu wa Ta’aala) saying:
{He it is Who created for you all that is on earth}, soorah al-Baqarah, aayah 29
However, it is obligatory to undertake the simplest route in testing and the furthest away from causing suffering to the animals.
