Shaykh ‘Abdul-Awwal narrates that he heard his father – Shaykh Hammaad ibn Muhammad al-Ansaaree رحمه الله, say:
I am a historian. I have not visited a country/city in this world except that I have written its history, and Allaah [alone] has the Complete knowledge [of all affairs].
