Lataa.if al-Ma’aarif p277
said:
‘Eed is not about the one who wears new [clothing], rather, ‘Eed is about the one whose obedience [to Allaah] has increased.
‘Eed is not about the one who beautifies himself with clothing and transport, rather, ‘Eed is about the one whose sins have been forgiven.
