[Striving in the pursuit of] people’s satisfaction is an unattainable goal, and [instead], striving to guide them is a good deed that should not be neglected.

Some students of knowledge have a weakness [in their ability] to memorise, and the weakness may be severe…

Most of the sins are borne of idle speech and looking [at that which is prohibited]…
Keep a watchful eye over them
So protect them upon the path of righteousness before they are lost to the paths of misguidance, and [in doing so] keep a watchful eye over them [to ensure they remain upon the path of righteousness], before you lose them.
Provision is solely in the Hand of Allaah
[Regarding] the dunya [of the believer], if it is lost [in the Path of Allaah], then Allaah will compensate for it…
Honouring your father
Whoever walks in front of his father, then he has disobeyed him, unless he walked [ahead] to remove [any] harm from his path.
A sound heart
…and the shortest of paths to paradise is soundness[1]of the heart.
Working for a living
Some of the companions saw a strong young man racing to his job, and they remarked: ‘If [him going to work] was in the Path of Allaah…’
A true brother
So your brother is the one who [sincerely] advises you, reminds you, and warns you [against pursuing the path to desctruction].
As a father, it is not your job
As a father, it is not your job to remove the thorns from the path of your child – out of fear they may scratch.
