Shaykh ‘Abdul-Kareem al-Khudayr said:
Some students of knowledge have a weakness [in their ability] to memorise, and the weakness may be severe. Then he says “so long as I do not memorise anything, why should I tire myself [in trying]?” [You never know], you may attain the position of imaam while your [ability to] memorise is weak.
Yes, [no doubt] the Sharee’ah knowledge is knowledge of the two revelations (the Qur.aan and the Sunnah) – and it is built upon memorising, but do not despair; pursue the path, [as the Prophet ﷺ said]:
«Whoever pursues a path in search of knowledge, Allaah will make easy for him the path to Paradise» Saheeh Muslim, no.2699
