From the etiquettes of fasting
We would like an explanation about some of the recommended etiquettes of fasting, so we can benefit [by putting them into practice].
Had ghusl before adhaan of Fajr
If a woman purified herself in Ramadhaan before the adhaan of Fajr, is she required to fast?
Intention of fasting
Is it sufficient to make the intention to fast – once at the beginning [for the entire month] – or is it required separately every day?
Intention for fasting
Concerning an imaam of a Hanafee masjid who mentioned to his congregation that he has a book in which it mentions – if the intention for the fasts of Ramadhaan are not made before the last appointed time for the ‘Ishaa [prayer] or [even] after it or at the time of suhoor (the pre-dawn meal), then there is no reward for his fast. So is this correct or not?
The beginning and ending of the daily fast
It starts from the adhaan of the Fajr prayer and finishes at sunset [at the time of the adhaan of the Maghrib prayer].
Fajr is approaching and need to make ghusl, and haven’t had suhoor
I need to make ghusl but there is not enough time to perform it nor eat the suhoor, should I perform the ghusl and miss the suhoor or should I eat the suhoor and delay the ghusl until after Fajr?
Fasting without making an intention when starting to fast
Sometimes I fast without making an intention when starting the fast. So is making the intention every day a condition for fasting or is it sufficient to make one intention at the start of the month?
The obligation to fast after purifying herself from completing the menses
If a woman purifies herself [after having completed her menses] in Ramadhaan before the adhaan of the Fajr prayer, is it obligatory upon her to fast [that day]?
Hesitancy towards whether or not to fast
We heard the cannons tonight more than once and we doubted whether or not it was ‘Eed or Ramadhaan so we waited until we heard something from the imaam before Fajr. But we didn’t hear anything.
