Itqaan as-Suyootee – v4, p1495

al-Imaam as-Suyootee said:

There does not occur in the Qur.aan an address of “O Muhammad”, rather [there is] “O Prophet” and “O Messenger”; and this is out of veneration and honouring him, and to distinguish him from everyone else, and to teach the believers not to call him by his name.

He is a graduate of the Islaamic University of Madeenah, having graduated from the Institute of Arabic Language, and later the Faculty of Sharee'ah in 2004. He currently resides in Birmingham, UK.
