Addressing the Prophet ﷺ

Reference: Itqaan as-Suyootee v4 p1495

as-Suyootee رحمه الله said:

There does not occur in the Qur.aan an address of “O Muhammad”, rather [there is] “O Prophet” and “O Messenger”; and this is out of veneration and honouring him, and to distinguish him from everyone else, and to teach the believers not to call him by his name.
