Applying henna on the hands

Question: What is the ruling regarding colouring the hands with henna?

Response: Colouring the hands with henna is something which the women are acquainted with, and it is a custom which is practiced for [the purpose of] beautification; So long as therein is beauty for the woman, then it is expected of her to beautify herself for her husband whether its application includes the fingernails or not.
