Question: If there is a [genuine] need to do so, is it permissible to dig open the grave of someone who was only buried some days ago?

Response: Yes, it is permissible if there is a [genuine] need, such as suspicion surrounding the [cause of] death – whether it was a crime [or not]. From the aspect of [maintaining general] security, yes [it is permissible] to dig [open the grave] in order to verify; [likewise] if something fell into the grave and you are in need of it, then there is no harm [in digging open the grave].
