By Allaah, we would never lie, and nor did we know what lying was.
It is not from [the etiquettes of] giving advice to spread the faults and shortcomings of the leaders, since that fills the hearts with anger and hate towards the [established and recognised] leaders.
If it were not for the scholars transmitting the knowledge, and teaching the people – generation after generation, the people would have all perished.
Knowledge is [attained] by way of [chains of] transmission, not by intellect.
Maintaining close ties with the scholars
So by the permission of Allaah, by returning to the scholars [for guidance] there is salvation from the fitan.
