Question: My husband insists that I travel with him outside the Kingdom [of Saudi Arabia] to a European country to spend the vacation there, but I do not want to go to the land of the disbelievers, and nor do I want him to go by himself. So what should I do? And am I liable for any sin for going with my husband?

Response: It is not permissible to travel to the land of the disbelievers for the sake of enjoyment, for that which exists therein of danger upon [one’s] ‘aqeedah and character. And it is not permissible for the wife to obey her husband by travelling [with him] on this journey, because it is a sin; And there is no obedience to [any of] the creation whilst committing a sin against the Creator (Allaah).
