Question: Is it confirmed from the life of the Messenger ﷺ that he started the adhaan by reciting:

{Allaah sends His Prayers on the Prophet and also His angels too. O you who believe! Send your Prayers on him, and greet him with the Islaamic way of greeting}, [Aayah 56 of Soorah al-Ahzaab]

Response: This has not been confirmed in his ﷺ life nor the era of any of the Khulafaa. ar-Raashideen (radhi-yAllaahu ‘anhum). Rather, it is an innovation and it is confirmed on his ﷺ authority that he said:

«Whoever introduces anything into this matter of ours (i.e. Islaam) that which is not from it, will have it rejected», [Saheeh al-Bukhaaree/2697 and Saheeh Muslim/1718]

And with Allaah lies all success and may Allaah send prayers and salutations upon our Prophet ﷺ and his family and his companions.
