Question: Is it permissible for the woman to go out for the ‘Eed al-Fitr prayer?

Response: Yes! It has been legislated to go out for the ‘Eed prayer and it has [also] been confirmed [likewise] for the women. And it is [mentioned] in Saheeh al-Bukhaaree and Saheeh Muslim on the authority of Umm ‘Atiyyah (radhi-yAllaahu ‘anhaa) who said: “We were commanded to leave [our homes] on the day of ‘Eed, even the virgin from behind her veil/screen, even the the menstruating [woman], so they would recite the takbeer and supplicate seeking the blessing of that day and it’s purification”.
