Striving to prevent evil from spreading

When Ibn Qudaamah would hear of any evil [taking place], he would strive to prevent it from happening again.

So [it was his habit to] to write to the ruler [to raise his attention to the problem, and this remained his habit] such that we heard from some of the rulers who said:

This shaykh is my partner [in authority] in my kingdom.
