They are from amongst the sects of the Shee’ah (Raafidhah) who are the followers of Abu Ja’far Muhammad ‘Ali al-Baaqir and his son Ja’far as-Saadiq.
They claim leadership (imaamah) of these two along with their father Zayn al-‘Aabideen, whilst some amongst them halt the imaamah at just one of them, and do not pass the imaamah to their children, while others do.
