Shaykh Ibn ‘Uthaymeen said:
The Prophet ﷺ forbade fasting on Friday alone.
However, if Friday coincides with the day of ‘Arafah for example, and he fasted it alone, there is no harm because this man fasted it because it was the day of ‘Arafah, not because it was Friday.
Likewise, if Friday coincides with the day of ‘Aashooraa and he fasts it, then there is no harm in him having singled it out, since he fasted it because it was the day of ‘Aashooraa, not because it was Friday.
