Once, Shaykh al-Albaanee (rahima-hullaah), whilst sitting in his car, was approached by a man who asked:
“Are you, Shaykh al-Albaanee?”
At this, the Shaykh was reduced to tears, and when he was asked as to the reason for him crying, he replied:
“It is befitting for a person to strive hard with himself and not to feel proud as a result of the people’s statements [of praise].”
