Ibn Taymiyyah رحمه الله said:

People are of three types:

Either he accepts the truth and adheres to it – then he is a wise person.

Or either he accepts the truth, but does not adhere to it, then he is to be advised so he acts [upon the truth].

Or either he does not accept the truth, then he is to be engaged in debate in a way that is best.
