Some of my colleagues do not pray, and others are lazy towards prayer

Question: I live and eat with people – some of whom do not pray, and others who pray late – praying the fajr [prayer] at 9 o’clock [in the morning]. Bearing in mind we all work together, what am I required to do? Should I leave this job?

Response: Firstly, advise your colleagues, and remind them to fear Allaah, and encourage them towards [doing] good; warn them against being negligent in [performing their] prayers, and encourage them to maintain them at their [appointed] times [in congregation] in the masjid. So if you have no connection with them other than from work, then leave them, unless you feel that by remaining with them and advising them they will accept [the advice] from you. Otherwise, if you have no connection with them other than from work, then so long as they continue to abandon the prayer and have a lazy attitude towards it, leave them.
