Suffering from incontinence

Reference: Sharh ‘Umdatil-Fiqh – Tape No.4, Question No.27

Question: How should the one suffering from incontinence purify himself, if he is constantly dripping?

Response: When he intends to pray, he should clean himself and place something around his private part to prevent the urine from dripping [on to his clothing]. He should then do the ablution and pray as he is, and [in shaa.-Allaah] his prayer is correct – even if he passes urine whilst praying. And this is based upon His (Ta’aala) saying:

{So fear Allaah as much as you are able}, soorah at-Taghaabun, aayah 16
