Shaykh ‘Abdul-‘Azeez ibn Baaz said:
We are [shortly due] to welcome a noble and blessed month, a month of fasting and praying, a month of reciting the Qur.aan, a month of multiplying good deeds and expiating bad deeds, a month of hastening to acts of obedience and competing in good deeds, a month in which Allaah has made fasting obligatory, and praying during the night voluntary.
The Prophet ﷺ said:
«When the month of Ramadhaan begins, the gates of Paradise are opened, and the gates of Hellfire are closed, and the devils are chained.» – Saheeh al-Bukhaaree, no.1899
