That is because if there was any good in it, then they would have preceded us in it, since they did not leave any good practice except that they hastened to it.
Indeed, their tribulations came about from these books which they turned to, and left the narrations of the Messenger of Allaah (sal-Allaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) and his companions.
Whoever hears of an innovation, then he must not relate it to his companions; he must not relay it [out of fear it may settle] in their hearts.
Is it correct that the one who does not pray the congregational prayer because the imaam is an innovator – is himself an innovator, bearing in mind the imaam’s bid’ah is not one of disbelief?
The innovator is not called an innovator (mubtadi’) until he persists in an affair which has been prohibited, and this affair consists of opposing the Sunnah.
