Reference: Sharh ‘Umdatil-Fiqh – Tape No.10, Question No.45
Question: We are a group of youth who live together, and we came to an agreement that whoever amongst us misses the Fajr prayer, then he must give each of those who prayed in congregation ten riyals?
Response: By Allaah, this arrangement is not permissible. That which is obligatory [upon you all is that you do] not leave him behind, rather you must wake him up and be sure that he goes to pray together with you all; and it is not sufficient that he just pays each of you ten riyals.
