Shaykh Ibn ‘Uthaymeen said:
Marital bliss is not attained by force or the imposition of control, indeed this is wrong.
Rather, the husband should consider his wife as his wife, and the mother of his children, and the one who takes care of the affairs of his home.
So he should respect her as he would like her to respect him.
