Facing the Qiblah whilst carrying out the slaughter

Question: In the slaughterhouse, those who carry out the slaughter do not lie the sheep down completely facing the direction of the Qiblah, instead, they suffice with just bending its neck in the direction of the Qiblah; so is that sufficient O noble shaykh?

Response: Facing the direction of the Qiblah whilst carrying out the slaughter is not obligatory; if he did so in whatever direction, then the slaughter[ed meat] is [still] halaal. That being the case, there is no need to contort the sheep [by bending its neck to face the direction of the Qiblah] whilst slaughtering; if it is possible to completely face the sheep in the direction of the Qiblah, then that is fine, otherwise it should be slaughtered in whatever direction it is.
