Question: [When] I have a wet dream, I have a bath [or shower] and wear the same clothing in which I had a wet dream; so is there any harm in that?

Response: There is no harm in that. However, from the aspect of cleanliness, washing them [is better]. Other than that, that which is correct is that sperm of the man is pure, and because of this, ‘Aa.ishah (radhi-yAllaahu ‘anhaa) said:

“I would wash it from his garment with water, and he would [then] pray with the people.”

And she [also] said:

“I would scratch it with my nail from the garment of the Messenger of Allaah ﷺ.”

Indeed it is pure, and removing it from the clothing is [done only] from the aspect of cleanliness [and not because it is impure].
