‘Abdullaah ibn Mas’ood رضي الله عنه said:

The righteous will pass away, and the Ahl ar-Rayb will remain.

They said: “O Abaa ‘Abdir-Rahmaan! and who are the Ahl ar-Rayb?”

He said: [They are those] people who do not command the good and nor do they forbid the evil.
