Ibn Mas’ood [radhi-yAllaahu ‘anhu] said:
The righteous will pass away, and the Ahl ar-Rayb will remain.
They said: O Abaa ‘Abdir-Rahmaan! and who are the Ahl ar-Rayb?
He said: [They are those] people who do not command the good and nor do they forbid the evil.
