Question: I am a housewife, and don’t [go out to] work; most of my time is spent with looking after my children and tending to my husband. And whilst I am in the kitchen, I listen to the [recitation of the] Qur.aan; so am I rewarded for any of that?

Response: Yes; you are rewarded – and all Praise is due to Allaah [alone] – for what you do in your home in looking after your children and tending to your husband. And, [in addition], you are also rewarded for listening to the [recitation of the] Qur.aan.
